Smoke Screen...

I am SO happy that October first has finally arrived. Why? Because today is day 1 of Tennessee's smoking ban law.

One of the things I've missed most about living in California (other than my dear friends of course) is going out to a bar or restaurant and not leaving smelling like stale smoke. I've always wished that bars and restaurants across the country would put the health of their workers and healthy patrons above the intrusive habit that stinks up the place and drives many people away.
As a former smoker, I can without malice say that habitual cigarette smoking is senseless. It is a waste of money, is harmful to many aspects of a person's health, and shows a person's honest lack of sense. With so much research and so many "stop smoking" resources, there's really no reason for anyone to not seek out an end to the intrusive addiction.

So-- HOORAY for October first! And HOORAY for stinky smokers being forced to take their nasty habit to their homes, cars or at least away from people who otherwise would have the stinky smoke forced upon them!
